Fritz is approx 2-3 years old, he is a small to medium cross-breed. He is a lovely, gentle sweet boy who has lots of character!

He is quite shy and will really benefit from some one to one attention! Fritz is fantastic with other dogs, and very polite and respectful and loves having a play. Sadly Fritz has spent most of his life in a kennels in Spain with his sister, and really deserves his chance in life. He will be a loyal friend to whoever takes him on, but will need to be re-homed with another dog who can show him the ropes!

He is currently being fostered in North Yorkshire, and lives with two other dogs and a cat, he is also really good with cats. He will suit a quiet active household who like going out on walks and have another dog, somewhere he will have the space to come out of his shell. He really is adorable and deserves his chance in life.

Please get in touch if you feel you can offer this boy his perfect forever home, Fritz is: neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has a PET passport.

Kirby is a nice cheeky little boy. He walks well on a lead or harness. He knows basic commands and listens to you. He loves people but doesn’t like to give you his toys once he has them, just grumbles a little and turns away. It is unknown what he is like with other dogs out of his kennel, seems ok so far, yet to be tested. He’s a lovely cuddle bum!! He is such a friendly affectionate boy if you would like to meet Kirby his reference number to quote is 5156.

Hello, my name is Meg

I am a four month old female, Labrador puppy. I arrived at The Mayhew because my previous owner couldn’t cope with a young bouncy puppy.

I am now starting to learn lots of good things, I’m quickly getting the hang of toilet training because I’m taken out to the garden every couple of hours and given lots of praise when I do my business out there. I’ve had my vaccinations and I’ve also been microchipped and neutered. Like any puppy I’m full of mischief and can be mouthy at first but as everyone here gives a loud yelp when I mouth and nip, I’m learning to just give puppy licks and kisses. I still have plenty of things to learn so I will need plenty of time and dedication from my new guardians to teach me all the basics and perfect my doggy manners.

I am looking for a new home with someone who will make sure I get two gentle, thirty minute, off lead socialisation outings per day whilst I’m still young, building up to a minimum of one to two hours of off lead exercise daily once I’m fully grown. My new guardians will have independently owned dogs as an adult before. They will be at home all day and will enroll me in training classes. I can live with another grown up dog providing they have been well trained, are calm and will be a good role model for me. Due to my very young age and training needs I need to live in either a house or ground floor flat with direct access to a garden and any children in my new home will need to be at least seven years of age and upwards. My new guardians will be taking on a fifteen-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly. My carers are very proud of me and say I in a committed home I will make a great family dog.

I hope to see you soon

Meg

My name is Charlie. I am 8 years old Yorkshire Terrier. I am at the Mayhew because my previous owner decided she no longer wanted me because I bark when I’m left at home on my own.

I am good with other dogs, cats and i am also good with children provided that they are sensible and used to dogs. I am also house-trained.

I dont like being left alone. I would like to find a home with someone who has owned dogs before, is at home all day and is fully prepared for the hard work and commitment involved in caring for a dog. I also need a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise daily in a park or open space.

Bobby is a stray dog so unfortunately we have no history on him. Although he is extremely friendly (he waggs his whole body to greet people!) and appears to be good with other dogs, we are unable to rehome to families with young children (under 10) and other pets. He has only basic training but is quick to learn like all Staffordshires and loves to play ball.

Bobby will be microchipped, neutered and have at least his first vaccination.

It is £50 to adopt a dog from Swindon Borough Council. A homecheck is required and all family members must come to meet Bobby beforehand.
