Posted by Latest Dog News from K9 Magazine as Dog News On the 27th October Allen Parton with his Canine Partner, Endal, visited the Kennel Club offices in London where Endal made Kennel Club history by becoming the first dog to visit the new Kennel Club Art Gallery which opened in September this year… The Drontal Coolest Canine competition launched in early 2003 and set out to find a successor to Endal, an assistance dog who was officially recognised as the ‘Coolest Canine in the country’ just over a year ago. Trying to follow in the paw-steps of a dog who has saved the life of his owner was never going to be easy….

Roddy, a beautiful Labrador cross golden retriever, has been trained as both a hearing dog and a guide dog for Angela Hassall who lives in Crewe in Cheshire…. Llangrannog Canine Action Group (LCAG), supported by UKDOG, are pleased to announce a campaign to fight for the preservation of an existing byelaw that allows dogs on beaches in designated areas during the summer months…. In recent years, the work of the Kennel Club to safeguard breed health and welfare has accelerated, partly due to the ongoing desire to encourage the breeding of healthy dogs and to promote participation in canine activities and also due to the threat of legislation which could adversely affect some of our long established breeds…. In November last year the Kennel Club announced that research had been undertaken to identify and confirm those breeds of dog which are basically of British or Irish origin and may be considered to be vulnerable i.e. those whose numbers are declining and whose status within the world of dogs has diminished over a number of years….
